February 25, 2014 — Samantha Schaden (642 series) & Joe Tremper (781) successfully defended their title and captured the $1,200 top prize at Sunday's NCAUSBCA Mixed Scratch Doubles Tournament at The Lanes Fort Meade. The Sports Plus/Camen Don Pro Shop of Alexandria, Va., unconditionally guaranteed the championship purse.
Other cashers included runners-up Cassandra Shivers (685) & Fero Williams (727), 1,412, $400; 3, Susan Ryan (687) & Stephen Hahn (695), 1,382, $300; 4, Rachael Gittings (632) & Edward Curtis II (724), 1,356, $200; and 5, Laurie McLane (627) & Tommy McLane (704), 1,331, $140.
In the Men's Option Singles, Tremper won the top two awards of $75 and $35 with his 781 and 768 series. Williams pocketed $15 for his 742.
Meanwhile, Ryan took home $60 for her 687 set in the Women's Optional Singles, while Shivers (685) earned an additional $25.
