Though he makes it look effortless, Bobby Hall II has spent countless hours honing in on the skills required for him to compete at the highest level of the game, both within the NCAUSBCA and on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour. He began bowling at age 6 at Riggs Plaza Bowl in Chillum, Maryland. He started out bowling in youth leagues, made the Invitational finals in 1988, and after becoming an adult league bowler, joined the PBA in 1994 at age 24.
Bobby has over 90 perfect games, countless 299s, and over 50 800 series. His achievements go back over 40 years and continue to this day.
On March 3, 1994, he bowled his first 800 series, an 801 (267-258-276) in league play at Fair Lanes University. The following night, he returned and rolled an 863 (298-285-280). At this time, 800s were not common, and this was believed to be the first time an area bowler scored consecutive 800s.
His current high series is 879 (300-300-279) at AMF Marlow Heights, and with a current average of 241, it is safe to say his achievements continue.
Bobby has won numerous titles locally and regionally. He is a two-time holder of the NCAUSBCA Championship Tournament All-Events title, and he has won numerous local tournaments, including Money Bags Scratch events and the Virginia-Maryland Scratch Bowlers Tour.
After qualifying second in the Regional Players Invitational Pro Champions Tournament, Bobby fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning and exemption on the 2010-2011 PBA Tour, making him the first NCAUSBCA African American member to earn such an exemption.
Bobby has exhibited extraordinary personal growth over the years. He is now both approachable and caring, and he understands it takes more than talent to succeed. It’s this insight and introspect that allows him today to make a positive impression at all levels of the game.
For his sustained outstanding performances on the lanes, Bobby Hall II is a most worthy addition to the NCAUSBCA Hall of Fame.
