Hall of Famer Ralph Hayward dies

The NCAUSBCA office is shocked and saddened to announce the passing of longtime treasurer/parliamentarian Ralph Hayward, who died after suffering a heart attack while visiting Atlantic City, N.J., over the weekend. Hayward, 82, a Waldorf, Md., resident who was inducted into the association's Hall of Fame in 1984, took over the treasuer's position in 1999 following the retirement of Robert Hennessy. He also was

Hayward was the secretary for many years of the Virginia Masters, the area's most prestigious league of the 1960s through the early 1980s. In the 1967-1968 season, he appeared in the area's "Top 10" ranking. This season, he bowled in the Potomac Area's Men's and the Senior Lunch Bunch leagues at Bowl America Shirley.
