Seminary record-holder eulogized
at service in Arlington

December 19, 2002 — A funeral service was held yesterday at the Elks Lodge in Arlington, Va., for longtime NCABA member Aaron Cornell "Doc" Hall, who died December 12 at Arlington Hospital following complications from cardiac arrest suffered nine days earlier. Hall, 41, an Arlington native and graduate of Wakefield High School, was a participant in the Shirley Park Strikers league at AMF Alexandria, the Sunday Morning Exercise People league at AMF Marlow Heights, and TCBA, an area travel league.

On January 29, 2000 in the Saturday Night Mixers league at AMF Seminary, Hall recorded an 823 series on games of 278-268-277—a house record that still stands. As a tribute, the bowling center will prominently note Hall's accomplishment.

NCABA member John Holtzclaw of Arlington, who had bowled with Hall and previously served as his attorney, told BOWL Magazine Online that when attendees of the funeral service were asked by one eulogizer to stand if Hall had taken money from them on the bowling lanes, numerous individuals from the crowd of approximately 300 rose to their feet as smiles and laughter filled the room.

Mr. Hall is survived by a daughter, Carolina Joanna Evans; father, Permus Mathaniel Hall, Sr.; mother, Jean Elizabeth Hall; a sister, Corliss Hall Randolph-Hogan; a brother, Permus Nathaniel Hall, Jr.; one uncle, Edward Webster; one aunt, Joan Hipps Smith; two nieces, Tranita Annisce and Raeshawn De'Ann Randolph; 10 cousins; six great nieces; three great nephews; one great great niece; one great great nephew; Godparents, Rosemary and Ponder Kemp; and a host of friends.
