November 3, 2001 — A total of $4,593.72 was raised this afternoon at Fort Belvoir Bowling Center for the Bowlers to Veterans Link at the 2001-2002 BVL Kickoff.
WDCAWBA director Carol Gauthier led all bowlers in pledge totals with $719, while Bob Haase topped all NCABA participants with $469.80.
NCABA director Scott Gielda (left) led the scoring with his 614 series that included a 245 game.
Among the competing veterans from the Soldiers' and Airmen's Home in the District, Steve Hakala was high with a 531 series. Donald Hamilton recorded 462, and Everett Rose tallied 461.
This season, NCABA/WDCAWBA will attempt to lead the nation in BVL association pledges for the eighth consecutive year.
